PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact sulky type rice transplanter. SOLUTION: This sulky type rice transplanter constituted by arranging a transplanting device at the rear part of a traveling machine body so as to be freely lifted and lowered, installing a drive-operation part in the traveling machine body, arranging a change-speed lever for operating the change of the speed of the traveling machine body, and a transplanter-lifting and lowering lever for carrying out the lifting and lowering operation of the transplanting device, at right and left side positions of the drive-operation part respectively, synchronously connecting the change-speed lever and the transplanter-lifting and lowering lever through a lever-synchronizing structure so that when the traveling machine body is driven backward by operating the change-speed lever, the transplanting device may be lifted, has a housing space for housing the transplanter-synchronizing structure for transmitting the power of the traveling machine body to the transplanting device, a lifting and lowering structure for lifting and lowering the transplanting device, etc., formed between the change- speed lever and the transplanter-lifting and lowering lever, and the lever- synchronizing structure arranged in the state detouring the housing space.
