PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate controlling thermal transfer to an image receive body by arranging a dye layer transfer part on an outer circumference of a dye layer transfer roller, and arranging a plurality of image record parts corresponding to the number of types of pigment transfer bodies on outer circumferences of respectively corresponding record rollers. SOLUTION: A dye layer transfer part 1 is arranged on an outer circumference of a dye layer transfer roller 17. Moreover, a plurality of image record parts 2, 3 and 4 corresponding to the number of kinds of pigment transfer bodies 7a-7c are disposed on outer circumferences of respectively corresponding record rollers 10a, 10b and 10c. A condition for a process of thermally transferring a dye layer onto a recording intermediate 8 and a condition for a process of thermal transfer recording pigments of coloring material layers on the pigment transfer bodies 7a-7c are set separately. A stability in transferring the dye layer and in transferring pigments can be improved, thereby facilitating controlling thermal transfer to an image receive body 9.
