PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition which can give a semiconductive vulcanized rubber having an electric resistance stabilized against a change in ambient conditions by mixing a halogen-containing polyether polymer with a quaternary ammonium salt in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. halogen-containing polyether polymer and 0.1-10 pts.wt. quaternary ammonium salt of the formula. In the formula, R1 is a 1-18C alkyl or alkenyl or a group of the formula: R4-CO- N(R5)-R6-; R4 is a 1-18C alkyl or alkenyl; R5 is H or R4; R6 is a 1-6C alkylene; R2 and R3 are each R4 or hydroyethyl; X- is a monovelent anion, desirably, perchlorate ion; and n is 1-15. It is desirable to use at lest either sulfur or a 2,3-dimercaptoquinoxaline derivative as a vulcanizing agent. The composition is vulcanized to obtain a semiconductive vulcanized rubber material. It is desirable that this material has a volume specific resistivity of 106 to below 107Ωcm (at a temperature of 23 deg.C and a relative humidity of 50%).
