PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an endoscope system which improves operability by allocating desired functions to manipulation switches, scope switches and foot switches of peripheral equipment by user, procedures and inspection when plural devices are concentrically manipulated and controlled and an endoscope system control method. SOLUTION: A main manipulation screen is changed over to a scope-foot switch setting screen 104 by pushing a scope-foot switch setting screen changeover switch. The manipulation switches of the endoscope are selectively assigned by pushing the scope switch selection switches corresponding to the manipulation switches of the endoscope desired to be set. Next, one manipulation switch of the function desired to be set is selected from a function selection key group 119 and is pushed. As a result, the manipulation switch of the desired function may be selected and set at the assigned manipulation switch of the endoscope. Similarly, the functions of the manipulation switches and foot switches of another endoscope may be set. |
