PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of types of waveforms to be created as output data and to utilize the waveforms effectively. SOLUTION: This waveform creating circuit includes a data selector 105 and edge selectors 107 and 109. The data selector 105 receives the input of two items of data of the equal number of bits as input data 111 and 113 and halves the total number of bits 2N of the inputted two items of data on the basis of a set valueα. The edge selector 107 creates a waveform corresponding to the first data, which is one of the halved total number of bits as an output waveform 119 in response to a timing edge 117. The edge selector 109 creates a waveform corresponding to the second data 121, which is the other of the halved total number of bits as an output waveform 125 in response to a timing edge 123.
