PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can read the image with high image quality. SOLUTION: In an area CCD scanner, color separation filters 70R, 70G and 70B read visible light from which an infrared light is removed by an infrared light cut filter 66 from a halogen lamp 64 as the frame image data of R, G and B in an area CCD 30 with respect to a photograph film. The infrared light is irradiated from LED 73 and infrared light image data of a frame image can be obtained by making a mirror 68 enter an optical path L. An inappropriate pixel affected by flaws and dust of the frame image is detected based on infrared light image data in an image processing part and the pixel of RGB image data are corrected by interpolation. Thus, the image having high quality can be read. |
