[Class 74 (ii)] In pattern-controlled needle-bed shogging devices, the pattern chain or equivalent is arranged to move a power driven member into position for effecting the shogging. In the form shown, a pattern chain driven by a Geneva stop mechanism from a shaft 17 is adapted, through link and lever mechanism, to move a shaft 29 axially, so that a pin 78 on a dix 77 is moved into engagement with a Geneva stop device on a shaft 76. The shaft 29 is always in gear with the shaft 17. One or more cams 128 carried by the shaft 76 are adapted to engage a follower 52 on a lever 47 pivoted at 48 to the cylinder bed and connected to a ring 49 connected by dogs to the dial bed. The lever 47 is held normally against a stop by a spring 79. In another form, the shaft 29, the axial movement of which is controlled by the pattern mechanism carries a cam for acting on the lever 47 to effect the shogging when moved in one direction, and for acting on a cam-follower controlling the locking of the lever when the shaft is moved in the opposite direction. |
