PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce copy-protected video data on a TV monitor with always copy-protecting. SOLUTION: A macro-vision IC 100 is incorporated in a graphic controller 13, and a VGA driver 102 for starting this graphic controller 13 is provided with interfaces 103, 104 for operating the macro-vision IC 100. At the time of decoding video data recorded in a medium 11a with a DVD decode software 101 at the time of video reproduction, whether the video data is copy-protected or not is judged. When copy-protected, the macro-vision IC within a graphic controller 13 via the interface 103, 104 provided to the driver 102 is started to copy-protect data and to reproduce it on television monitor.
