PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an image data based on which an edition can be printed, in which edition a printed matter is hardly affected by positional deviation of the edition and a satisfactory printed matter is generated even if positional deviation occurs in the edition. SOLUTION: In a picture processing for processing inputted multilevel picture data, multilevel picture data corresponding to one color obtained by color development 11 is converted into plural pieces of multilevel picture data 12a. Plural multilevel picture data obtained by conversion are each converted 13a into binary picture data and plural obtained binary picture data are composited 15. The edition is printed based on binary picture data obtained by the processing and therefore a positional deviation is made to be not conspicuous and a satisfactory printed matter can be obtained even if the edition is deviated in its position when the printed matter is generated by the printed edition.
