PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail system being excellent in convenience and operability. SOLUTION: A computer 11 detects the allowable data size of an electronic mail transmitting server 12 and the data amount of an electronic mail to be transmitted, and when the allowable data size is smaller than the data amount, the computer 1 transmits document data as it is. When the allowable data size is larger than the data amount, the document data is stored in an FTP(file transfer protocol) server, and its location is transmitted and outputted as reference information.
