摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier capable of preventing fogging, the occurrence of unevenness in density and toner scattering in an actual device over a long period of time and excellent in the stability of a charged state by specifying the coefficient of static friction of the surface of particles. SOLUTION: The coefficient of static friction of the surface of particles of the carrier is 0.15 to 0.33, preferably 0.15 to 0.30, further preferably 0.15 to 0.24. When the coefficient of static friction is <0.15, the surface of the carrier is too smooth to attain good triboelectric charge with a toner and toner scattering is liable to occur. When the coefficient of static friction exceeds 0.33, fine toner powder or a toner component is liable to stick (spend) on the surface of the carrier and the stability of a charged state deteriorates. The carrier may be produced by any method if the coefficient of static friction is 0.15 to 0.33. The carrier is preferably a coated carrier or a binder type carrier, in particular the binder type carrier from the viewpoint of the controllability of the coefficient of static friction and the adjustability of resistance.</p>
