Bipolar pulsed streams in electrolytic apparatus are formed using a pulse regulator and adjusting circuit voltages and scrambling using pulse regulator. Pulse regulator is controlled to produce pulsed streams. Production of bipolar pulsed streams in electrolytic apparatus comprises using a pulse regulator (7) between the exits of two direct current intermediate circuits and electrolytic cells; adjusting the strength of the intermediate circuit voltages by means of a rectifier (3) to a value which is at least 10% higher than the highest required single cell voltage for the positive and negative pulsed stream; scrambling and modulating the intermediate circuit voltages using the pulse regulator; and electrically controlling the pulse regulator in such a way that bipolar pulsed streams are produced with the individual pulsed stream amplitude required for the electrolytic cells.
