<p>A homogenization valve (2) includes a housing (13) and stacked valve members (18) within the housing. The valve members (18) have central holes therethrough defining a high pressure volume (8). Each valve member (18) includes a valve seat (24) defining, with a valve surface (26), gaps (16) through which fluid is expressed radially from an inside high pressure volume (8) to the outer low pressure volume (9). An actuator (12) closes one end of the central volume (8) and acts on the valve members (18) to control the width of the gaps (16). A pressure barrier (40) is positioned within the central volume (8) to reduce the force from the central volume acting on the actuator (12).</p> |
