<p>The invented switch, particularly a circuit breaker is provided with a fixed switching contact (2) being arranged within a switch box (1) on a fixedly mounted contact guide strip (3) and further a swinging contact (4) mounted in slidable manner also in the switch box (1) and communicating with the front end of a contact strip (5), which forms a stop of the movable contact (4) at OUT function thereof. Internal space extending between the guide strip (3) and the contact strip (5) is encircled for conducting electric arc (6) in a quenching chamber (7) from both sides with areas of insulating inserts (8) being arranged at a certain distance from the switch box (1) inner walls, whereby each of the insulating inserts (8) is provided in its wall for the purpose of eliminating destructive effects of electric arc (6) with at least one slot (9) extending from an intermediate space close to the fixed switching contact (2) and the front end of the contact strip (5) in the direction toward the quenching chamber (7).</p> |
