PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly increase a braking force on determining a sudden brake operation by a driver and to control the braking force not to cause an odd feeling to the driver. SOLUTION: Determining means 13, 14 determine a sudden brake operation by a driver, and the operating load of a brake pedal is detected by a brake operating load sensor S1. Actuation of an actuator 2 is controlled by an actuation control means 15 so that after the actuator 2 is temporarily actuated according to the determination of the sudden brake operation made by the determining means 13, 14, the a actuation of amount the actuator 2 is adjusted according to a value detected by the brake operating load sensor S1.
