PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate an influence of a moire portion and to prevent a misjudgment by smoothing a reference image and an image to be inspected, comparing the smoothed reference image with the smoothed image to be inspected to judge their non-defectiveness or defectiveness in an inspecting apparatus for inspecting an introduced fold section ad incorrect collating in a bookbinder. SOLUTION: In order to inspect incorrect collating, the image of a fold section is formed by an image pick up unit 2 at detecting timing synchronized with an operation of a gathering unit, and whether the formed image is the image of the normal fold section, i.e., a reference image or not is decided. In the case of the reference image in this judgment, the reference image 11 is smoothed by a smoothing means 8, the smoothed reference image 12 is obtained, and stored in a memory 7. Meanwhile, in the case of the image to be inspected, the smoothed image 14 to be inspected is similarly obtained, and stored. Positional deviations of the images 12 and 14 are corrected, and non- defectiveness or defectiveness is judged by a non-defectiveness or defectiveness judging means 10 based on the corrected images 12, 14. |
