PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent biting of a foreign matter, to prevent an inadvertent interruption of a closing action, or to forcefully continue the closing action by controlling the signal inputs of a pressure-sensitive sensor and a rotation sensor with a window opening/closing switch. SOLUTION: A pressure-sensitive sensor 7 is arranged on the window frame 2 of a vehicle door 1, a rotation sensor 6 is provided on a motor 5 vertically driving a window glass 4, and the load applied to the window glass 4 is detected. A window opening/closing switch 20 is made selectable in two stages. For an automatic closing action via a control circuit 10, the closing action is stopped by the signal of the pressure-sensitive sensor 7 or the rotation sensor 6. For a manual closing action, the signal of the pressure-sensitive sensor 7 is ignored, or the signal of the rotation sensor 6 is ignored. The biting of a foreign matter can be reliably detected by both sensors 7, 6 in the automatic closing action, the closing action is continued in spite of the inadvertent contact with the window frame 2, or the closing action can be forcefully continued as a ruffian countermeasure.
