<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed cushion improved in a cushioning effect, degradability, mechanical strengths, and workability by forming many cuts on the flat surface of a foam made from a degradable resin and opening the cuts to allow the foam to develop expansibility. SOLUTION: Cuts 12 spaced at constant intervals in a pattern of stitches are formed on the surface of a flat foamed sheet 11 containing starch or cellulose acetate as a base, 50-5 wt.% polyvinyl alcohol, polypropylene, or aliphatic polyester or 50-5 wt.% glycerol, kaolin, fat, protein, or a mixture thereof, 20-5 wt.% polyethylene, and 0.5-10 wt.% fibrous material as a reinforcement. The sheet 11 is stretched in the directions shown by the double-head arrow to obtain a net-like degradable foamed cushion. This cushion has quality and workability equivalent to those of a net-like foamed cushion chiefly made from e.g. polyethylene and, besides, it does not adversely affect the ecosystem.</p> |
