PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molding material having high flame retardancy, reduced in light discoloration and the formation of halogenized gases upon being burnt by mixing a polyolefin resin with ammonium polyphosphate, melamine cyanurate, a higher alcohol, and a benzotriazole-type ultraviolet absorber. SOLUTION: It is desirable that the total amount of the ammonium polyphosphate as a flame retardant, the melamine cyanurate, and the higher alcohol is 5-100 wt.% based on the polyolefin. It is desirable that the mixing ratio among the ammonium polyphosphate, the melamine cyanurate, and the higher alcohol is 70/15/15 to 50/25/25. It is desirable that magnesium hydroxide and/or aluminum hydroxide are contained in an amount of 5-100 wt.% based on the total amount of the polyolefin resin and the flame retardant component. It is desirable that the mean particle diameters of the magnesium hydroxide and the aluminum hydroxide are each 0.1-2.0μm.
