METHOD FOR GENERATING AND STORING A MULTI-LEVEL POLYGON GRAPHIC MODEL

PURPOSE: A method for generating and storing a multi-level polygon graphic model is provided to rapidly display and store a three-dimension graphic images. CONSTITUTION: First, a polygon model is transformed to a quadedge(140). The quadedge polygon model is simplified by removing a corner and transformed to a multi-level polygon graphic model. Here, the polygon that is in the vicinity of the removed corner is removed and regenerated. In the corners shared with the original polygon and the regenerated polygon, a multi-level corner is generated. Then the multi-level corner is transformed to the quadedge and compose the multi-level corner. The multi-level polygon model is generated by a store method that manage a hierarchy composed of the quadedge as a list form.
