PURPOSE: A multi-point extensometer system and automatic measuring method is provided to obtain a reliable value of measurement in a convenient manner, while allowing for an automatic measuring of remote distance. CONSTITUTION: A multi-point extensometer system comprises an extensometer(50) buried underground, and a wire displacement transducer(100) for electrically detecting the settlement measured by the extensometer. The extensometer includes a corrugated pipe which is lead into the ground, and which has a head anchor(54) arranged at an end of the corrugated pipe so as to be fixed underground; a plurality of settlement elements(61 to 66) arranged within the corrugated pipe, and which have a plurality of elastic spiders(61A to 66A) to be fixed underground; a plurality of displacement metering wires(71 to 76) connected to settlement elements, respectively; and a spider connecting wire connected in common to the elastic spiders of settlement elements so as to spread the spiders. The wire displacement transducer includes a work table(102) installed onto the ground; a measuring equipment installation board arranged onto the work table; displacement measuring sensors connected to displacement metering wires, respectively; and a plurality of wire support rollers(121 to 126) installed in a circumferential direction at the center of the measuring equipment installation board, and which support the displacement metering wires, respectively.
