PURPOSE: An address-strobe device is provided to reduce unnecessary current amount after an address strobing so that a consumption power is reduced. CONSTITUTION: An address-strobe device comprises a buffering unit(100), an activation controller(300), and a strobe/latch unit(200). The buffering unit(100) buffers an external input address(add_in) so that the external input address(add_in) is appropriate for operation of an internal circuit. The activation controller(300) determines whether the external input address(add_in) is necessary for operation of an internal circuit or not, and controls activation of an address path according to the decision result. The strobe/latch unit(200) selectively strobes and latches address from the buffering unit(100) according to an output signal(en) from the activation controller(300), and outputs the address into the internal circuit. Thereby, unnecessary current amount can be reduced after an address strobing so that a consumption power is reduced.
