PURPOSE: A method for selecting broadcasting signal is provided to distinguish a data channel and a program channel conveniently by adding a function relating to a data service to an electronic program guide and providing information relating to the data service for a user. CONSTITUTION: The method for selecting broadcasting signal includes following processes. First, a user turns on a television set and selects the electronic program guide service(3-1). When the user selects the electronic program guide, time/channel information is displayed(3-2). Thereafter, a process is to discriminate whether the data service broadcasting among the displayed electronic program guide services is selected or not and then the data service broadcasting is selected(3-3,3-4). When the data service broadcasting is selected, an application list constructing the data service as a sub screen is displayed(3-5). When a desired application from an application list is selected, a control unit changes the application like a channel change and provides the changed application to the user(3-6,3-7).
