METHOD FOR RESTORING DAMAGED OPERATING SYSTEM IN SET TOP BOX

PURPOSE: A method for restoring damaged operating system in a set top box is provided for the set top box to automatically restore damage of the operating system. CONSTITUTION: Check sum of a stored operating system is calculated. Whether the calculated check sum and downloaded check sum are identical or not is decided. In the case of misidentification, the operating system and check sum of the operating system are downloaded from a server. After completing download of the operating system, the operating system is performed. In the case of demand of download of the operating system after performing the operating system, the operating system and the check sum of the operating system are downloaded from the server.
