摘要 PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method of driving the same are provided to reduce a scan time during the address period and relatively extend a time of the sustain discharge period with two address electrode groups so as to acquire the high luminance and high efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A scan pulse is applied to an electrode group(3, Y electrode) during the address period. A sustain pulse for sustaining a discharge is applied to a sustain electrode group(4, X electrode). A data pulse for generating a sustain discharge between the odd-numbered scan electrode group(3) and the sustain electrode group(4) is applied to a first address electrode group(20, A1 electrode). A data pulse for generating a sustain discharge between the even-numbered scan electrode group(3) and the sustain electrode group(4) is applied to a second address electrode group(22, A2 electrode). One discharge cell has two address electrodes on a rear substrate. To reduce a time of the address period, the discharge cell is driven with the first address electrode group(20) during the scan of the odd-numbered scan electrode(Y1,Y3, ...) and is driven with the second address electrode group(22) during the scan of the even-numbered scan electrode(Y2,Y4, ...).
