PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote miniaturization and to facilitate the design of parts. SOLUTION: In this projection type display device 1, a power source unit 9 which is comparatively large among the component parts is divided into 1st to 3rd power source blocks 9A to 9C. Then, the respective blocks 9A to 9c are efficiently arranged inside the device 1, so that dead space is hardly formed inside the device 1 and the device 1 is miniaturized. The blocks 9A to 9C are constituted to be classified by functions, that is, the block connected to an external power source, the block to supply power to a main board 12 and the block to supply power to a light source device 183. Therefore, functional relativity among the blocks 9A to 9C is reduced and the blocks 9A to 9C are individually easily designed.
