摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an operating voltage drop in discharging due to a heavy current by connecting a solid color part to the inner surface of a container bottom part, in an alkali secondary battery equipped with a negative electrode containing hydrogen storage alloy powder having tap density of not less than a specific value and a specific composition, a positive electrode, an alkali electrolyte and a storage container while the negative electrode has a collecting plate of a punching metal sheet having the solid color part at its side end part. SOLUTION: The composition of a hydrogen storage alloy is expressed by a general formula LmNixMnyMz. Lm is a rare earth element containing 70-100 wt.% of La, M is Co, Al, Fe, Zr, and atomic ratios x, y, z show that 3.30<=x<=4.50, 0.01<=y<=0.30, 0.20<=z<=1.70 and 4.90<=x+y+z<=5.50. A solid color part 3 is connected to the inner surface of a container bottom through a strip conductive member 13 or a flat one similar to the container bottom. The solid color part 8 of the end on the upper side of a positive electrode 11 and the solid color part 3 are stacked by mutually displacing them so that they appear on the opposite sides. An operating voltage drop in discharging due to a heavy current is held by reducing a contact resistance between a negative electrode and the container.
