PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a shear wave velocity in the ground. SOLUTION: This measuring method for a shear wave velocity is composed in such a manner as a transmission side bender element 11 is disposed in the ground so that the bender element 11 can transmit an oscillation wave through the ground, plural reception side bender elements 12, 13, 14 are disposed at intervals so that the bender elements 12, 13, 14 can receive the oscillation wave propagated through the ground, the transmission side bender element 11 transmits the oscillation wave, and the plural reception side bender elements 12, 13, 14 receive the shear waves, time differences of the shear waves received by the plural reception side bender elements 12, 13, 14 are found, and a shear wave velocity is calculated from the intervals and the time differences.
