PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character string generating device capable of generating character strings by simple operation. SOLUTION: The character string generating device for generating an arbitrary character string is provided with a character input means (dial or character keys, and ten-key pad) for inputting characters by specified input operation and generating an input character string by using this, a storage means 13 for storing a part or the whole of the input character string as a character string to be stored according to a prescribed storing instruction, and a reading means 11 for reading the stored character string having at the head the character inputted by the input operation from the means 13 and generating the input character string by using this.
