PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video microscope where the photographing magnification of an object can be varied in one operation over a wide range and the magnification and focus can simultaneously and automatically be set without the need for lens exchange. SOLUTION: An objective distance between an object 1 and a lens system 22 is adjusted through driving of a motor 14 that integrally drives a mechanism 12 adjusting a lens mirror barrel 21 incorporating a lens system 22 through internal sliding and a position sensor that senses its position with respect to an observation stand 11 facing the object 1 and an objective image forming distance between the object 1 and an image pickup element 32 is adjusted through driving a motor 17 that integrally drives a mechanism 15 adjusting a video signal conversion section cylinder 31 provided with an image pickup element 32 internally skidded with respect to the lens mirror barrel 21 against the observation stand 11 and a position sensor that senses its position. An arithmetic controller is employed to simultaneously focus the objective distance and the objective image forming distance corresponding to the video image magnification.
