PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrator with a superior shock resistance with respect to an external shocks such as a fall. SOLUTION: In the piezoelectric vibrator, where its piezoelectric vibrating element 14 is contained in an inner space 13 of a package consisting of a base 12 and a cover 22 sealing this base, one end of the piezoelectric vibrating element 14 is fixed as a fixed terminal 14a and the other end is a vibrating chip in the package, and the piezoelectric vibrating element 14 is provided with a support section 21, where an interval of at least part of the vibrating chip 14b of the piezoelectric vibrating element 14 and an inner face of the package is made smaller than the interval between the fixed terminal and the package inner face, leaving a clearance L1 of slightly wider by a few degrees wider than amplitude of the vibration on the basis of a function of the piezoelectric vibrating element 14.
