<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the data amount of an electronic mail by transferring not an attached file itself but the address of the attached file. SOLUTION: A GW computer 5 divides an electronic mail transmitted from a 1st computer 1 into a message text and an attached file, the attached file is stored in the computer 5, and an HTML file being a list of attached files is further prepared and stored. The computer 5 reprepares an electronic mail obtained by adding the list of the attached files to the message text and transmits the electronic mail to a 2nd mail computer 4 via a 1st mail computer 3, and the electronic mail is stored in the computer 4. A computer 2 fetches electronic mails to the computer 2 itself from the computer 4 and also downloads an original attached file from the computer 5 by utilizing the list of the attached files when needed.</p> |
