PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processor that can acquires an image with high image quality without visual mismatching by using respective magnification means to magnify a color picture and selecting the magnification of a chroma signal based on its local information. SOLUTION: A fundamental color signal RGB of a color picture expressed by a 1st color representation system into a 2nd color representation system with a lightness signal L and two chroma signals C1, C2, and an image magnification section 12 magnifies and interpolates the chroma signals of the 2nd color representation system. The image magnification section 12 has a 1st magnification means 13 that magnifies the lightness signal, 2nd and 3rd magnification means 16, 17 that selectively magnify the two chroma signals, a characteristic extract means 14 that extracts a characteristic of a prescribed image of the two chroma signals magnified by the 2nd and 3rd magnification means 16, 17, and a magnification accuracy selection means 15 that selects the magnification accuracy of the two chroma signals by the 2nd and 3rd magnification means 16, 17 in response to the characteristic of the local image extracted and compared by the characteristic extract means 14, and the accuracy of the 2nd magnification means 16 is set higher than that of the 3rd magnification means 17. |
