PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image heating device in which satisfactory rotation of a cleaning roller for a pressure roller is obtained. SOLUTION: A recording material carrying an unfixed developer image is pinched and fed by/to the fixing nip of the pressure roller 3 driven by a motor and a heating roller 1 to cause fixing to be conducted, and the cleaning roller 4 is made detachable from the pressure roller 3 by solenoid 5, so that the solenoid 5 is operated in a direction for separating the cleaning roller 4 from the pressure roller 3 before the operation of the motor stops.
