PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery capable of discharging a current as large as over five times per hour. SOLUTION: A bunch of electrodes is composed of positive electrode(s) of such a structure that a positive electrode black mix based on a nickel compound is carried on an electricity collecting sheet and negative electrode(s) of such a structure that a negative electrode black mix based on a hydrogen storage alloy is carried on an electricity collecting sheet, wherein the positive and negative electrodes are laminated alternately or wound round with a separator interposed, and this bunch of electrodes is accommodated in a battery can together with an eletrolytic solution, and the opening of the can is sealed with a seal plate furnished with a positive electrode terminal, and the end of the electricity collecting sheet, at least of the negative electrode, is in electric continuity to the battery can through an electricity collecting plate welded to the sheet end. Thus a nickel-hydrogen secondary battery is completed, in which a portion 1A of the sheet C1 of the negative electrode is furnished with a region having a lower resistance than another portion 1A'.
