PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a substantially constant driving force necessary from operation electromagnet for properly turning on/off even at the time of power fluctuation and power failure of main power supply. SOLUTION: This controller for an operation mechanism of a breaker is provided with a position detection device 1a detecting a travel position of a movable member, and excitation electric power to an operation electromagnet 12 is cut off by a command of the position detection device 1a when the movable member reaches a position set in advance before a turning on after the start of turning on/off and when turned on and when the movable member reaches the other position set in advance before breaking where turned off.
