Six-axis force sensor applied to fingertip detects deformation of elastic part using e.g. strain gauge

The sensor has a finger receptacle (1) for a fingertip. An elastic part (2) connected to the receptacle is deformed in response to the contact force and contact moment exerted by the human finger on an object. The deformation is detected by a strain gauge and converted into an electrical signal which is extracted and processed to detect the fingertip forces.
