The shaft and coupling is provided by a coupling element (5) received in corresponding slots (3,4) in the wall of the shaft bore provided in the hub (1) and in the mantle surface of the shaft (2), for coupling the hub and the shaft together to prevent their relative rotation. The coupling element and each of the slots have a circular cross-section, with the cross- section of one at least one of the slots tapering towards one end for limiting the axial movement of the coupling element.
