PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that stably conducts automatic control with high accuracy in the case of conducting zoom control. SOLUTION: The image pickup device consists of a zoom control means 101, an aperture control means 102, a focus control means 103, a drive means 105, an AGC control means 106, an A/D converter means 107, a signal processing means 108, an arithmetic area control means 109, a detection arithmetic means 110, an automatic control arithmetic means 111, a 1st external input control means 112, and a 2nd external input control means 113. The image pickup device uses information of zoom control to correct an arithmetic area for an evaluation value for automatic control so as to calculate a control variable for the automatic control corresponding to the zoom control.
