<p>A system for electronically transferring a sum of money over a communications network. A user downloads data from a content provider. The content provider obtains a caller identifier corresponding to a telephone line which the user is using to download the data. The content provider uses the caller identifier to obtain a payment account reference for the user. By interacting with the data downloaded from the content provider, the user manipulates transaction data representing manipulation of a sum of money. This transaction data is transferred to the content provider who transfers transaction data to an account provider responsible for the payment account of the user. The account provider then performs a corresponding money transfer on the account.</p> |
