PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material to be recorded by ink jet, manufactured by a comparatively lower cost technique with characteristics such as surface gloss and high ink absorption. SOLUTION: In the material to be recorded by ink jet, having an ink receptive layer formed on at least one of the faces of a base material, fine silica grains dispersed in a chained aggreomerated state is used as a main component of at least an outermost surface layer of an ink receptive layer. When this material is manufactured, a coating containing fine silica grains and an integrating agent is applied and dried, and is smoothed using a calender according to necessity. |
