PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet for ink jet recording which is free from a bleeding failure to in a printer while keeping the superb glossiness of an ink receptive layer using inorganic silica particulates and excellent printing property. SOLUTION: In the sheet for ink jet recording having at least one ink receptive layer formed on a water-resistant support, the ink receptive layer comprises a porous layer containing inorganic fine grains whose average primary particle dia. is 20 nm or less. In addition, the surface electric resistance of the ink receptive layer is 1×1011 Ω or less under conditions of 20 deg.C and 65%RH and the surface electric resistance of the back face of the water-resistant support is 1×1011 Ω or less under conditions or 20 deg.C and 65%RH.
