PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tape which has an excellent hand tearing capability and is hard to peel off, by bonding a thermoplastic resin film to a nonwoven fabric without using an adhesive therebetween in order to form a film existing across a plurality of fibers in the region where the fibers constituting the nonwoven fabric are welded to each other. SOLUTION: A polyester resin film is pref. used as a thermoplastic resin film. The film thickness is pref. in the range of 3-30μm. The intrinsic viscosity of the polyester used for the film is pref. 0.5 or more from the viewpoint of film forming stability. The nonwoven fabric is pref. a polyester nonwoven fabric. It is preferable that the basis wt. be 1-100 g/cm2 and the fiber diameter be 0.1-30μm from the viewpoint of mechanical strength. The melt-blow nonwoven fabric is preferable from the viewpoint of co-drawing property. This substrate is manufactured by forming a film by means of melt extrusion of a thermoplastic resin and laminating this film with a nonwoven fabric by means of thermal adhesion, followed by uniaxial or biaxial drawing.
