PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch lid holding tool capable of surely and easily attaching and detaching a side ditch lid by constituting two arms having holding parts with turns engageable with the bottom edge of the side ditch lid arranged on one-side ends in such a manner as to be rotatable in scissors shape. SOLUTION: Holding plates 13, 13 having barbs 17, 17 engageable with the bottom edge of a side ditch lid are arranged on one-end sides 12a, 12b of two arms 11a, 11b. A shaft member 15 is inserted to shaft insert holes 14a-14c formed in the longitudinal center of each arm 11a, 11b to constitute both the arms 11a, 11b so as to be rotatable about the shaft member 15 in scissors shape. Then, the side ditch lid can be surely and easily nipped by the dead weight of the side ditch lid added to the barbs 17 of the holding plates 13 of both the arms 11a, 11b. The nipping angle between the arms 11a, 11b and the holding plates 13 and the longitudinal holding angle between the barbs 17 and the holding plates 13 are preferably set to about 120 deg. and to about 80 deg., respectively.
