PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily ascertain an unopened state of a book and prevent stand reading in a bookstore. SOLUTION: Either of fold-back portions provided at both ends of a book jacket is allowed to extend (Fig. a) as it is without being inserted between the inside of a book cover and an end leaf portion thereof, and is folded (Fig. b) so as to cover a fore-edge side of the book. Then, after an adhesive member is sandwiched between the fold-back portion and the book jacket covering a side of the book when the end of the book jacket is further folded from a position shown in (Fig. c), thermocompression-bonding processing is performed, and the folded-back portion and the book jacket covering the side of the book are bonded to each other in the form as shown in (Fig. d). Since this adhesive member has different adhesive forces on the front surface side and the rear surface side of the fold-back portion of the book jacket, which is surface-processed, and is not adhered to the front surface of the book jacket again when the folded-back portion is once separated from the front surface of the book jacket, the adhesive member remains in the state of being stuck to the rear surface of the fold-back portion after separation. Accordingly, whether the book is in an unopened state can easily be determined. Thus, such an act that the book is read without being bought in selling the book at a bookstore can be prevented, and an advantage that an appearance of the book jacket covering the side of the book is not deteriorated after separation can be provided.
