PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a head in which the effect of crosstalk is suppressed at a low cost by providing a second chamber between a chamber and a manifold and setting the length of the second chamber optimally in the conducting direction of ink. SOLUTION: A second chamber 3 is formed on a channel extending from a chamber 2 to a manifold 5. The chamber 2 and the second chamber 3 are interconnected through a thin interconnecting passage 4a while the manifold 5 and the second chamber 3 are interconnected through a thin interconnecting passage 4b. An elastic wave generated in the chamber 2 when ink is ejected is a compression wave generated through Helmfoltz oscillation and normally has a frequency of 50-200 kHz. The second chamber 3 plays a role equivalent to an expansion muffler and reduces propagation of the elastic wave significantly. The dimension L of the second chamber in the conducting direction of ink is optimally set L=C/4F, where F is the Helmfoltz frequency and C is sound velocity in the ink.
