PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an over-drying of clothes from occurring. SOLUTION: After a motor is turned on, and the revolution speed has been stabilized (S4 to S6), the motor is temporarily turned off, and the revolution pulse signal during the inertial revolution is counted and stored (S7). Then, a heater is turned on, and a substantial drying operation is started (S8). Then, when the difference between a drum outlet temperature and an atmospheric temperature has reached a specified temperature, and that the drying is almost completed is detected (S11), a counted value of the revolution pulse signal at the time of an inertial revolution is obtained by the same method (S13 to S15). When the difference in the counted values is larger than 15, a heating extension period of time which is set to be rather longer in advance is used as it is. Then, when the counted value is not more than 15, it is judged that the drying has been almost totally completed, and the heating extension period of time is reduced by 3 min (S19). By this constitution, when clothes the dehydration of which has been sufficiently performed in advance are housed in a drum, a period of time while the heating is continued becomes shorter, and an over- drying of the clothes can be prevented from occurring.
