PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air separator for an air squeeze-pumping mud-like substance to be carried, by which air can be separated effectively by a small- sized device at a carrying terminal section even when a large quantity of the substance to be carried such as a mud-like reclamation material are carried by using a transport pipe having a large diameter. SOLUTION: The terminal section of an air squeeze-pumping type transport pipe 1 in which a mud-like substance to be carried such as soil and sand is parted into a large number of lumpy plugs and fluidized, holding air sections, is communicated with a vertical cylindrical air separating cylinder 5, and an exhaust port 6 is formed at an upper end while a carrying-substance flowing- down port 7 is formed at a lower end in the air separating cylinder 5. A diverging guide 15 dividing a flow from the transport pipe 1 into the left and the right and flowing the flow along inner circumferential surfaces on both sides of the air separating cylinder is mounted, and the flows divided into two of the substance to be carried are made to collide mutually on the inner circumferential surface of the air separating cylinder 5 at that time.
