PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain size and weight reduction while showing sufficient load holding capability. SOLUTION: This jump hood is provided with a jump mechanism 16 jumping up the rear end part 15a of a vehicle hood 15 and a control unit 30 determining whether to jump up the vehicle hood 15 on receiving a signal from a pedestrian collision detection sensor 9 which detects the collision with a pedestrian before or after the event. The jump mechanism 16, having a pair of right and left rear shaft parts 27a, 27a mounted on the rear end part 15a of the vehicle hood and a pair of right and left front shaft parts 28a, 28a mounted on a hood ridge reinforcement positioned at the lower part of the hood, contains a pair of right and left link members 29, 29 linking them respectively, with the front shaft parts 28a positioned ahead of the rear shaft parts 27a in a vehicle. The front end part 15b of the vehicle hood has a hood moving mechanism 32 which is linked to a a radiator core support member 17 extending in the cross direction of a vehicle and serves to move the vehicle hood 15 forward. |
