PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording head in which an ink drop is ejected stably through motion of a movable member. SOLUTION: A thin planar movable member 3 is provided between the orifice 2 of an orifice plate 1 and the heater 6 on a heater substrate 5. When ink 9 is bubbled by means of the heater 6 to increase the pressure, the movable member 3 is deformed resiliently to move toward the orifice 2. When the movable member 3 moves to the vicinity of the orifice 2, pressure of the ink 9 sandwiched between the movable member 3 and the orifice plate 1 rises transiently to generate a resisting force. Since motion of the movable member 3 depends on the resisting force, a substantially constant motion is generated and since an ink drop being ejected has substantially constant quantity and speed, a stabilized ink drop is generated.
